Josh Paterson is
a guitarist from Longmont, Colorado that began playing the guitar at
the age of 8 after being inspired by his Mother’s record collection
featuring the likes of Steely Dan, Jimi Hendrix and Led Zeppelin.
Hearing
so many great guitar players inspired him to keep practicing and
developing his technique. He continued studying various styles of
music throughout middle school and high school. He played with a
number of different bands that ranged in styles from classic rock,
to punk, alternative and progressive rock.
In his late teens,
Josh heard the band, “Return To Forever” and he began a new focus on
studying the many faces of jazz/fusion and began immersing himself in
the works of guitar virtuosos like Al Di Meola, Eric Johnson, John
McLaughlin and Scott Henderson. Most recently, Josh has played in a
local jazz trio covering a range of great standards from Charlie Parker,
John Coltrane and Miles Davis.
He was also a key
member in the house band that hosted the blues jams in Lyons Colorado as
well as playing in several local blues and jazz/rock bands.
